PITILLAL (PITIYAL)

This is the largest suburb of PUerto Vallarta that is also known amongst locals as “Piti City,” is located just five minutes by cab from the Marina Terminal (WalMart) and hosts an amazing amount of local stores, diners and restaurants. The best thing about Pitillal is its authenticity. There really isnt anything touristy about it … it is a place where you can go to get a sense of the “real” Mexico. It is just a place where you can stroll, people watch and window shop and then relax with an authentic Mexican lunch. Please note that if you wander around and get lost somewhere, do not worry. There are many taxis passing every few minutes at any time of day so go ahead and try your own tour of Puerto Vallarta that is a bit off the beaten path. I am sure you will be pleasantly surprised.
