Walking the lookouts of Puerto Vallarta

Going out is one of my favorite hobbies. I like to explore every corner of Puerto Vallarta and when I see something that produces me a feeling, in that moment I just picture it.

Last week I took a tour of the best lookouts in the region and I never imagined the captivating views of each one; relaxation and harmony is what they gave to me. If you come to Puerto Vallarta and you want to keep some incredible memories of this destination, I recommend you these unique places that I definitely would visit again.

Cerro de la Cruz

The best lookout point in Puerto Vallarta. From here you will appreciate a beautiful sunset. It is worth coming in the afternoon if you like to see the nature to its maximum splendor. To get there, take the Abasolo street until you see the Emiliano Carranza street; continue on Abasolo street that will take you to the top.

Matamoros

Ideal for a romantic encounter between couples. The Matamoros lookout point is the most crowded with locals and visitors because of its central location. Most of the photographs of  viewpoints are taken from here. To get here, walk to the Matamoros street at the corner of Mina street, located a few blocks from Puerto Vallarta’s malecón.

Conchas Chinas

Definitely this lookout is amazing. It is located in the residential area of Conchas Chinas which is divided in two: the upper part (mountain) and the bottom part (beach). You can access to this viewpoint by Amapas street in the Colonia Emiliano Zapata.

Los Arcos

Access to this place is very limited because it is an ecological reserve. The most beautiful thing to do is admiring the Pacific Ocean. This place is a combination between jungle and beach so it has became a perfect spot to capture scenes as if they were from a movie. To get to Los Arcos, take the road to Mismaloya. Get out of the way exactly where you see Le Kliff restaurant and one block beyond, you will find it.

Particular lookouts in Mismaloya

If your budget allows it, Mismaloya has an inmense variety of hotels with extraordinary views to Puerto Vallarta and the ocean. I recommend you the Grand Miramar hotel because its restaurant is located on the top floor. The only way to get there is by a vehicle, or if you like walking it will take you 20 minutes, but the climbs are very tiring.

Which of these viewpoints you would like to go? Share your experience once you have visited them or if you know another one, please contact me to put it on the list.
