The Riviera Nayarit Classic returns for 2011

The Riviera Nayarit continues to generate good news! On this occasion, it will host the only event on Mexican soil of the Futures Tour 2011 (put on by the Ladies Professional Golf Association), along with the Riviera Nayarit Classic tournament. During a press conference in Mexico City, authorities from the Riviera Nayarit and the sports promoter Ochoa Sports Management shared the details of this international affair; they expect 111 professionals from 34 countries to participate as contenders for a spot in the best female league of golfers.
According to the committee organizer, the golfers will arrive in Mexico beginning on the 4th of April to participate in the Pro-Am event on the 6th and 7th, which is open to the public. During the Pro-Am aficionados of this elegant sport will be able to play alongside a professional and be eligible for extraordinary prizes; among them a stay in the luxury all-inclusive resort Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit. The Riviera Nayarit Classic will officially start on Friday, April 8th and the final round will be played on the 10th. It was announced that whoever would like to attend the event may, as the entrance is free.
Mexican players such as Sophia Sheridan of Jalisco, currently in 28th place of the last Futures Tour, as well as Lili Álvarez, the best Mexican representative in the 2010 tournament, shared their impressions of this golf gala during a press conference with the media and sponsors.
For this important event, Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit will have a wonderful welcome cocktail affair for the participants on the beach in front of the resort. As part of their sponsorship, the elegant Luxury All-Inclusive Resort will be awarding a prize of 7 nights for two people to the golfer who makes a “hole in one” at the 15th hole.

The Riviera Nayarit Classic, in addition to providing an account of over $125,000 USD for future LPGA players, will donate funds collected to charities founded by the Lorena Ochoa Foundation, the best Mexican female golfer in history, and who will most certainly be present at El Tigre to support her fellow golfers.
