Everyone’s Irish this St. Patrick’s Day in Vallarta-Nayarit
Did you know that St. Patty’s Day is actually a bigger party in North America than anywhere in Ireland? Stemming from the Irish immigrant population in New York City, Boston, and Chicago of the mid-1800s, the March 17th holiday has become not only a celebration of Irish culture and community, but a statement of solidarity with all people who endure hardships for the betterment of their families. That said, let’s be honest – it’s also a great excuse to chase Irish whiskey with green beer, while fattening up on corned beef and cabbage. Where to find such delights for a proper St. Patrick’s Day in Banderas Bay? Here are a few local favorites:
Murphy’s Irish Pub
Festivities start with the Pre-St. Patrick’s Party, 12-4pm on Wednesday, March 15th. For a charitable donation of just $250 MXN, guests enjoy an afternoon of live music, and old country dishes like Guinness Stout Stew, Corned Beef, and Fish & Chips. On the morning of St. Patty’s, expect things to kick off closer to 10am, with more live music, food and drink specials.
Los Muertos Brewing
Lázaro Cárdenas 302
Breakfast at PV’s most popular brewery in Old Town is FREE from 10-11:30am with any drink purchase, including pints of green beer for just $30 MXN each.
483 Del Bosque
Holiday festivities often include heaping helpings of traditional Irish fare and rivers of green beer at this classy Canadian expat hotspot.
