On May 31^st the Riviera Nayarit will hold the region’s first ever mountain biking race.

The temperature and geography of the area are perfect for a number of sports, and now the Rancho La Montalbeña in Higuera Blanca will host the 1st Mountain Race in Riviera Nayarit. The race is also the 4th edition National Mountain Biking Sports League (Lijacim AC).
Director of the event Belén Villasante stated “We were able to plan this event thanks to interest in promotion of the sport, which has become increasingly popular, and we wanted to gain more exposure for the Riviera Nayarit and the natural beauty of its mountains”.
The race is organized by the National Mountain Biking Sports League and the Velo Bike Club, along with the Convention and Visitors Bureau of Riviera Nayarit. It will feature 26 categories with competitors of all ages divided into male and female subdivisions.
Villasante went on to say that this will be an 8k cross-country race. The category in which each person participates determines the number of laps in the circuit. The track is characterized as very fast and although participants won’t need a lot of technique, it will require great effort.
Attendance of between 250 and 300 competitors is expected, including locals, nationals and their companions. It’s a great opportunity to show off the beauty of the Riviera!
This event is ideal for spending time with the family and encouraging physical fitness and appreciation of the great outdoors. It’s also a good example of the diversity of events offered in Vallarta – Nayarit, which promotes the physical wellbeing of its population.
