Puerto Vallarta is a destination with a great range of flora and fauna. If you’d like to admire a few animal species you can’t see anywhere else, check out the Puerto Vallarta Zoo.
Located in Mismaloya the Puerto Vallarta Zoo is on the way to the famous Eden of Puerto Vallarta. You can reach it by car or public transport. If you’re driving, take the road to Barra de Navidad to Mismaloya and then turn left to El Eden. You’ll soon see the zoo’s signs and main entrance.
To go by bus, take the Mismaloya route; the buses are oranges and you can wait for them by the OXXO on the very southern end of town. Get off in Mismaloya and walk towards El Eden until you see the signs and main entrance.
Puerto Vallarta’s Zoo brings you a unique opportunity to interact with animals. Unlike other zoos you can actually feed many of the animals (and take fun pictures of yourself doing it!). The zoo’s altitude also offers beautiful scenery, where views of the jungle and sea combine to create a stunning panorama.
The zoo hours are from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and tickets cost around $100 pesos for adults and $50 pesos for kids. For more information, be sure to visit the official Vallarta Zoo website.
