Marigalante pirate ship tour – the best for families

I recently embarked on a pirate journey with the Marigalante in Puerto Vallarta and let me tell you, it was great. From the personal waiter service to the show to the contests to the fun on the beach… it was a day to remember.

You are first greeted by one of the “pirates” who brings you onto the ship and helps you find a seat aboard and then escorts you to breakfast. Most tours in Vallarta that offer breakfast usually give you something continental… the usual pastry and coffee variety. Not in this case. You can expect to eat eggs and ham, cereal, yogurt, muffins, etc. served to you at your table. Great way to start the day!

After breakfast you are brought deck side where you will enjoy two hours of entertainment. The crew dances, tells jokes, plays games and puts on a great show that involves audience interaction. I was actually asked to play a small part in the main show and was given a cool tee-shirt at the end. It was definitely something to remember.

Next stop on the trip is Majauitas, a pristine beach that can only be accessed by boat. On the beach, guest can ride the banana boat, play volleyball, kayak or enjoy a cold beer while the kids go on a treasure hunt and play games with the activities staff. If you are in the mood for snorkeling, the crew will take you over to a section of rocks great for seeing tons of colorful fish and other marine life.

Lunch on this tour was very good. I had a big plate of salad, chicken cordon bleu and some yummy pasta and my fiancée had beef stew on noodles. I mean, this is not world class food but it really is good and I am sure your family will feel the same. As I mentioned with breakfast, everything is served to you at your table in the cabin of the ship including all the drinks you desire.

On the way back to shore, the entertainment continues with games for couples, a raffle and mommy and kid competition. The crew gives out prizes for pretty much everything they do with the guests… it is really nice to see so many people go home with something to remember this eventful day by.

I highly recommend this tour to families! It is one of a kind and a very nice experience for all.
