The Los Mangos Library is considered one of Puerto Vallarta’s cultural centers; it opened its doors on November 30th, 1996 with just 15,000 sources of information. It all started three years earlier when a group of citizens decided to establish Pro Library Vallarta, AC, whose objective was to join forces with the government, businesses, residents and visitors to the city to build a library that would become a cultural addition to the city.

Today Los Mangos has over 30,000 books in Spanish and English as well as audio and video library services. Entrance to the library is free, you are only asked to register so that visitor statistics may be tracked.

The library offers various courses for all ages, such as dance, performing arts, music, sculpture,  reading lessons and languages as well as physical fitness. There are also specialized classes like open high school studies and even chess lessons.

Every Saturday from 10:00am to 2:00pm Los Mangos holds a bazaar where people can buy and sell books, clothing and household items among other things. It is an excellent opportunity to find the occasional treasure.

Be sure to visit the Los Mangos Library, located on Avenida Francisco Villa #1001, Colonia Los Mangos. Open Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 9:00pm and Saturdays from 10:00am to 6:00pm.
