And this summer, you’re in luck, as Vallarta Yacht Club offers three sessions of sailing lessons to ages 7-21. If you’ve never sailed before, you’ll want to start with fellow Beginners on July 18th. After that, you’re welcome to proceed through the camp’s next two levels of training accordingly. Each session is Monday-Friday, 11am-5pm.

What’s Included & What to Bring

It’s mandatory that every sailor have their own personal life vest. Other than that, all you need is sunscreen and an eagerness to learn. Vallarta Yacht Club will provide your choice between a Laser dinghy or sailboard, expert instruction in both Spanish and English, as well as lunch and drinks throughout the day.

About the Boats

The International Laser Class Sailboat is the global standard for crews of up to two sailors. Not only is it perfect for mastering the basics of sailing, it’s also the vessel used in the Olympics, as well as thousands of men’s and women’s regattas around the world. If you eventually want to try your hand at tricks, though, the “Sailboard” may be more to your liking. Also known as windsurfing, riding a sailboard is really a mix of both sailing and surfing, allowing riders to conquer massive waves, while performing freestyle tricks like jumps, flips, and spins.
