Who doesn’t love feasting on smoky BBQ, river waters rushing past as live music fills the tropical jungle air? If that sounds like paradise, join the idyllic scene at El Rio BBQ’s 6 th Annual Riverfest fundraiser for the local charity, Pasitos de Luz. From noon until 7pm on Saturday, March 4 th , a total of seven bands and musicians from across Banderas Bay provide the soundtrack (Texas Embassy Blues Band, La Trez Cuartoz, and more), while El Rio serves up their legendary ribs and margaritas alongside the Bay’s best paella from Barcelona Tapas. Additional features include art exhibits, salon services, silent auctions, and 50/50 raffles – all for a great cause.

For a more inclusive and generous experience, opt for the “Patron Package” ($800 MXN). This gets you priority seating throughout the event, a welcome drink, complimentary snacks, and a buffet feast from 2-5pm.

All proceeds from Riverfest go to Pasitos de Luz, a local charitable organization dedicated to providing care for children with disabilities from throughout the region.
Why Not Party All Weekend Long?
New to this year’s event, El Rio BBQ has expanded the fun of Riverfest over three days. It all starts as they set things up on Friday, March 3 rd , with live music from Hard Money (2pm) and Bob & Gilberto (4pm). Then on Sunday, the buffet takes a decidedly Mexican turn, featuring live shows from Mariachi Real de America (2pm) and Los Bambinos (4pm).
