By Jorge Araguez

I grew up in a part of Argentina where spending time outdoors was of great importance to society, so much so that my memories of my youth are closely related to being outside. Equestrian sports including Polo were ever-present.

Polo was known as the game of kings and is one of the most historic sports in the world. If you’re a fan of this sport, imagine a vacation by the sea and near a polo field. It sounds like a dream but it does exist! And it is here in Vallarta-Nayarit.

Located an hour and forty minutes from downtown Puerto Vallarta, in the town of San Pancho, you will find La Patrona; a polo field surrounded by towering mountains and lush green vegetation. On this sublime field, you will see internationally renowned polo players, and of course, great local teams.

Observing the combination of the mountains with their incomparable greenery, the beauty of the polo ponies and perfect beaches of the Mexican Pacific is definitely a unique experience. If you attend Saturday games, you can complete the adventure with an exquisite glass of champagne.

There are a thousand reasons to visit Vallarta-Nayarit, and if you love polo this destination is very close to heaven on earth. The scenario is a new experience that will leave you speechless.

This and more can be lived in Vallarta-Nayarit! I leave you today with an invitation to enjoy polo matches in Vallarta-Nayarit –a treasure in the Mexican Pacific.
