I entered the gate and was welcomed with the distinctive Casa Velas’ greeting by a very friendly lady. Once in the lobby, Don Cruz kindly showed me the way to the venue.
It was located in the middle of the Marina Vallarta Golf course, where the flourishing flora of the region could be perfectly admired. I entered the room and it was the best refuge from the tropical heat wave; the lighting was low, creating an intimate atmosphere –you could already tell that this concert was going to be very exclusive.
Fruta Madura, a band from Guadalajara, took the stage and the show began around 10pm -the best part was that it was broadcasted live on the radio! We traveled through time to remember classic rock songs like Ides of March’s Vehicle, Rod Stewart’s Have you ever seen the rain; and some Bon Jovi and Kansas as well with You Give Love a Bad Name and Dust in the Wind.

This musical event at Casa Velas became a night to remember! Fruta Madura sang for more than three hours; all the classics known by everyone in the audience – including my friends and me.

The exquisite service that distinguishes this resort, once again, didn’t disappoint. The waiter took excellent care of my table; it is always a pleasure to come to Casa Velas.
We danced all night long and even made new friends with the table next to us, who were staying at the hotel. They mentioned that coming to Puerto Vallarta and staying at Casa Velas was the perfect couple’s getaway to escape the cacophony of the city. Enjoying events like this makes retreats into extra-special experiences that will be remembered for years to come.
Fruta Madura’s concert was definitely an out-of-the-ordinary occasion that needs to be repeated! I can’t wait to go to Casa Velas’ next event and have a blast like I did last weekend.
