The whales visit Puerto Vallarta every year and have become one of the most popular natural attractions among touristsand locals; so popular that from January 8th-11th the first ever Ballenarte Festival will be held to promote the conservation of this species in Banderas Bay and Vallarta-Nayarit.

The closure will be on Saturday the 11th and will include participation by whale conservationists; this is a public event that anyone can attend.
