Stemming from the Irish immigrant population in New York City, Boston, and Chicago of the mid-1800s, the March 17th holiday has become not only a celebration of Irish culture and community, but a statement of solidarity with all people who endure hardships for the betterment of their families. That said, let’s be honest – it’s also a great excuse to chase Irish whiskey with green beer, while fattening up on corned beef and cabbage.
