Wellnessing Getaway: A physical, mental and spiritual well-being experience, only at Velas Resorts
Can you imagine a week dedicated to self discovery and renewal of your inner being? Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit made it happen by presenting extraordinary activities including wellness seminars, healthy cooking classes, fitness sessions, juice therapy, Spa, therapeutic concerts, as well as in-suite amenities such as fitness equipment, complimentary massage and personal training.
Velas Resorts transformed the word wellness into an action by creating the Wellnessing Getaway at Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit, also coming up soon at Grand Velas Los Cabos. These retreats are focused on providing the absolute renewal of body and spirit to help guests experience deep tranquility and externalize the best version of themselves.
Wellnessing goes beyond a Spa treatment, participating in a yoga class or eating healthy; it is a philosophy created by these Luxury All Inclusive resorts that aim to provide their guests with a healthy lifestyle during their vacations, demonstrating that wellness-inspired travel is possible and easier than imagined. Recognized specialists in the field of well-being gathered from October 4 – 7th at Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit, to share their ideology with all the attendees.
Among the participants were Diana Mestre, an internationally renowned expert with over 35 years of experience in the Spa and wellness industry, particularly in the field of hospitality, bioscience, design, and development. She holds a S.C.L. B.A. in Pre-Medical Biology, from the Polytechnical Institute of California where she graduated with honors. As director and owner of Mestre & Mestre Spa & Wellness Consulting she has worked in more than 50 projects in leading companies and resorts in Mexico, the Caribbean and Central America. Also a member of the “Spa Consulting Initiative Task Force” by the International Institute of Wellness she collaborated in the creation of the book “Harmony + Serenity + Balance: Spectacular Spas of Mexico”.
Roberto Méndez Gopar was in charge of therapeutic concerts and created a unique atmosphere with sacred instruments for the Family Yoga Class taught by the professional instructor, Narayani. He is a pioneer in the research, dissemination and use of sound therapy as a complementary treatment in various conditions. Originally from Oaxaca, for 26 years he has dedicated his life to researching the effects of the vibration of ancestral instruments on the three spheres of being: physical, mental-emotional, and spiritual.
Yoga was one of the most notorious activities, and important personalities offered extraordinary sessions. One of them was Ana Paula Domínguez, founder and director of the Mexican Institute of Yoga, and certified instructor of Kundalini Yoga. She studied the traditional system of Indian medicine (Ayurveda) in India and the United States, under the guidance of Dr. Vasant Lad. She is also author of several books and currently a facilitator for the “Harmonization Program” of the PeaceEarth Foundation, with UNESCO.
Among the variations that attracted the most attention was Antigravity yoga, led by Laura Marie Colon, a Certified AntiGravity® Fitness Instructor and Manager of the AntiGravity® Pilates Program. Originally from Brooklyn, New York, her passion began at a very young age through dancing. She holds a B.F.A. in Dance Performance with a minor in Kinesiology and has performed worldwide. Having studied various techniques such as cross training, she is also certified to teach yoga, pilates and thai. She has completed various AntiGravity® programs under founder Christopher Harrison, among other instructors.
To complement this unrivaled experience, guests can also opt for accommodations in the Wellness Suites, which offer additional in-suite features like a fitness kit with yoga mat, dumbbells and resistance bands; an elliptical bicycle; aromatherapy kit and organic soaps; as well as a daily stocked minibar with healthy snacks, among many others.
Aside from these special events, the hotel offers vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and personalized menus on a daily basis, which can be requested from the resort’s chef. In addition, the gym offers special routines for specific body areas assisted by a personal trainer.
If you wish to take part in this experience, do not miss the next Wellnessing Getaway at Grand Velas Los Cabos, which will take place from November 22 to 26, 2017.
