The month of May in Mexico is full of holidays! There’s May 1st, Labor Day; May 5th (or 5 de Mayo), commemorating the Battle of Puebla;  and May 10th, Mother’s Day in Mexico, among others. There are also going to be a number of international events held in the destination.

Vallarta Aztec International Folklore Festival

Date: April 27th – May 7th

A multicultural celebration of color, music and traditions. The festival seeks to foster ties and brotherhood among participants.

Patron Saint Festivals of La Cruz de Huanacaxtle

Date: May 3rd

Although these festivals began in April, with live music, tastings, horsemanship, folkloric ballet groups, fireworks and a small fair in the town of La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, the grand finale is always the best; the day of Santa Cruz.

International Altruism Festival

Date: May 14th

A grand showcase of culture and cuisine in Puerto Vallarta at the Casa Magna Marriott, to support 20 associations that benefit various causes.

Restaurant Week

Date: May 15th-31st

Now in its 13th edition, over 40 Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit restaurants will be offering innovative, exclusive three-course menus to delight locals and tourists alike, to introduce the destination’s vast and varied gastronomy.

Wind Festival of the Riviera Nayarit

Date: May 19th-21st

This is the largest kiteboarding event in Latin America and one of the five most important in the world. In every edition, over 200 kiteboarders participate in a race that begins in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle and ends in Bucerias.
